Product Review: SunnahStyle and Misk of Jannah Saudi Niqabs!

Assalaamu alaikum w rahmatullah w barakatu!

Today I have a combined review for the two new niqabs I bought, both of which are Saudi style niqabs. I wanted to wait to do the review until I had them both in order to compare how they were made, etc. So first off, here is the video, and then I will do a more detailed review after the jump!

The first niqab in the video is SunnahStyle's long 3-piece niqab. SunnahStyle does "regular" 3-piece niqabs and long ones, but I prefer longer and more flowy lengths. They also do "no-pinch" niqabs which are designed for glasses wearers so that way the niqab doesn't cause the glasses stems from "pinching" into your head or ears and causing pain.

The SunnahStyle niqab is very light and comfortable. This could easily become my new everyday niqab, because, as much as I love the next one I'm going to review, black is easier for every day and this one is also lighter. The flow is very pretty. However, I do kind of wish it was a bit longer. That's probably my only "gripe"! You can get this niqab here. SunnahStyle does a good job on everything... I did have a small bit of string that came off of the niqab part; I noticed it while eating and had to cut it off. Other than that, there aren't any production issues that I've noticed. I will say I wished that I had received the niqab sooner, but that is my fault - I thought I ordered express shipping, but I had ordered standard. If I remember correctly, express shipping to the US was something like $30, which explains why I would have passed it up!

The second niqab in the video is Misk of Jannah's XXL Magenta niqab with 4-layers. Now, as I said in the video, this was not the niqab I ordered. I originally ordered a purple 3-layer Saudi niqab. However, after about two months after not receiving my niqab and not receiving responses to email inquiries or Facebook message inquiries, I was getting really frustrated... Subhan'Allah I asked on Instagram if any sisters in Austria or Germany would be willing to help me, as I was fairly certain that the issue, and why I wasn't receiving responses, was due to language barriers. Alhamdulillah a couple sisters responded. One called the company for me a couple of times and the other gave me the Facebook information of the husband of the woman who runs Misk of Jannah. Through both of these I was finally able to get in touch with someone and we found out my parcel was stopped upon entry to the US... So they sent me out a new niqab free of charge, alhamdulillah! However, the one I received was not what I ordered but, instead, the XXL Magenta niqab with 4-layers. Our speculation is that the owners wanted to give me a more expensive item to help make up for the hassle.

When I received the niqab I immediately tried it on. This is what it looked like:

I then had to alter the niqab, first by opening the eye slit. However, if you like to tie your niqabs beneath your bun, you may not need to do this (sorry, I apparently didn't get a picture of the before and after alteration):

How the niqab will look if you do not alter the eye slit and tie beneath the bun.

The niqab was also six inches wider than what SunnahStyle's website listed as the width of their long 3-piece niqab. When I tried it on, I noticed that I was actually tying up niqab fabric, which made it slip easier and made the flow of the fabric quite awkward. I ended up taking out the seams and folding the layers in so they would be less wide.

"Veil" fabric at 28 inches across.
SunnahStyle niqab width/length info.

I ended up removing some of the seams and folding over 2-3 inches on each side.

The Misk of Jannah niqab has BEAUTIFUL flow! Subhan'Allah! I love it so much, wallahi! I was a little skeptical at first, and sometimes still am, about the satin fabric for the face of the niqab (please note that sometimes this kind of "floats" up toward my eyes! So be careful), but the niqab is certainly unique and beautiful... Please make sure, however, that this niqab is very securely on before praying namaaz! Wallahi one day I was praying at the masjid and it fell right off of my head after the second rakat!

Misk of Jannah sells niqabs in several styles and VERY unique colors. They sell Saudi niqabs both with and without a nose string, butterfly niqabs, and "ninja" or one-piece niqabs. You can buy from them here. While I have heard many other sisters have had issues with orders from this particular company taking a while, and even with having to make alterations, I think that their niqabs are so unique that it makes up for it. Please take care though to be patient and also either know how to alter clothing or know someone who does! If you need help with that or with contacting Misk of Jannah about a product, please feel free to let me know and insha'Allah I will do my best to help you!

Jazakum Allahu khairan. <3
